Himalayan Coral Bean Bark Pieces (Erythrina variegata) are the dried bark sections of a striking tropical tree known for its scarlet blossoms and long-standing role in Ayurvedic, Polynesian, and Southeast Asian herbal medicine. Also known as Indian Coral Tree or Paribhadra in Sanskrit, this plant has been used for centuries for its calming, anti-inflammatory, and pain-relieving properties, as well as its role in supporting the nervous system and musculoskeletal health.

In Ayurveda, Erythrina variegata bark is described as bitter, pungent, and slightly astringent, traditionally used to balance vata and kapha doshas. It is valued for its ability to reduce swelling, relieve joint and muscle pain, and calm the mind. Decoctions of the bark are also used to purify the blood, support digestion, and promote restful sleep, making it a natural choice for stress-related tension and inflammatory discomforts.

In traditional Pacific Island and Southeast Asian herbal practices, coral bean bark is applied externally in poultices and washes to reduce inflammation, soothe wounds, and support recovery from injuries. It is also sometimes taken internally (in small, guided doses) for arthritic pain, liver health, and fever relief.

Modern phytochemical studies identify erysodine alkaloids, flavonoids, and triterpenoids in Erythrina variegata, compounds known for their sedative, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant actions. These constituents align with its traditional reputation as a nerve-calming and pain-relieving herb.

Each batch of Himalayan Coral Bean Bark Pieces (Erythrina variegata) is carefully harvested and naturally dried to preserve its fibrous texture, reddish-brown color, and active compounds. When decocted, the bark produces a bitter, earthy infusion used in formulas for joint comfort, liver cleansing, and mental relaxation.
