Abrus Herb Whole (Abrus cantoniensis), known in Traditional Chinese Medicine as Jue Ming Cao (决明草) or more specifically Xiang Si Teng (相思藤) when referring to the vine form, is a mildly bitter, cooling, and detoxifying herb traditionally used to clear heat, eliminate dampness, and support liver health. This whole-herb form includes the aerial parts of the plant—leaves, stems, and fine vine tendrils—preserved in their natural state for decoction or blending.

In folk and regional herbal medicine, Abrus cantoniensis is often used to support healthy digestion, cool internal heat, and assist the body’s natural detoxification pathways. It has also been used to address jaundice, hepatitis, and damp-heat conditions affecting the liver and gallbladder. The herb’s gentle clearing and harmonizing effects make it suitable for use in cleansing formulas or recovery blends, especially in cases of heat combined with damp stagnation.

When simmered, Abrus Herb Whole yields a mildly bitter, herbaceous infusion and is commonly combined with herbs like Yin Chen Hao (Artemisia scoparia), Bai Hua She She Cao (Oldenlandia), or Pu Gong Ying (Dandelion) in formulas aimed at clearing liver heat, reducing toxicity, and resolving dampness.

Each batch of Abrus Herb Whole (Abrus cantoniensis) is carefully harvested and dried to maintain purity, freshness, and full-spectrum herbal activity. Whether used in detoxifying teas, liver-supporting decoctions, or gentle cleansing blends, this herb offers a balanced and traditional method for cooling internal heat and promoting natural detoxification.

Note: This species is different from Abrus precatorius, which is toxic and not used internally. Always confirm botanical identity before use.
