Dragon’s Blood Resin Powder (Daemonorops draco) is a finely ground form of the vivid red resin derived from the fruit of a Southeast Asian rattan palm. This crimson botanical has held a prominent place in traditional medicine, ritual practice, and folk healing systems for centuries, prized for its cleansing, protective, and blood-activating properties.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), it is known as Xue Jie (血竭), or "blood of the dragon." It is traditionally used to promote blood circulation, stop bleeding, reduce swelling, and accelerate the healing of injuries. Dragon’s Blood is most commonly used topically in powders and salves to treat wounds, ulcers, bruises, and joint trauma, especially where blood stasis and inflammation are present. Internally, it has been used in small amounts under clinical supervision to help with pain and stagnation syndromes, though its internal use is now less common due to potency and safety considerations.

The powdered form offers excellent versatility. It can be mixed into ointments, added to healing liniments, or burned in incense blends for spiritual use. Dragon’s Blood is highly regarded in ceremonial and metaphysical traditions for its protective and purifying qualities. When used as incense, it is said to strengthen intentions, dispel negative energy, and sanctify sacred spaces.

This powder has a deep red color and a fine, slightly sticky texture due to the resin content. It can be added to topical preparations, used as a base in incense cones or loose blends, or incorporated into herbal powders for trauma and bruising.

Due to its potency and strong action, Dragon’s Blood resin powder is generally intended for external use. Internal applications should be guided by experienced practitioners.
