Indian Mallow Herb Whole (Abutilon indicum) is the dried aerial portion of a traditional medicinal plant widely used in Ayurvedic, Siddha, and regional folk medicine for its cooling, soothing, and anti-inflammatory properties. Known in Ayurveda as Atibala, this gentle yet effective herb is valued for its ability to pacify heat, soothe irritated tissues, support the urinary system, and promote comfort in inflammatory conditions. Its nature is generally considered sweet, slightly bitter, and cooling, making it suitable for heat-dominant and irritation-related patterns.
In traditional use, Indian Mallow is commonly prepared as a decoction or infusion to help soothe urinary irritation, reduce burning sensation, and support kidney and bladder health. It has also been used for fever, digestive inflammation, diarrhea, and heat-related weakness, as well as to support joint comfort and recovery from inflammatory conditions.
Indian Mallow is also widely used externally, applied as poultices, washes, or pastes for wounds, boils, swelling, skin irritation, and inflammatory pain. Its mucilaginous nature helps cool, protect, and hydrate tissues, supporting healing and comfort at the surface level.
Modern research shows that Abutilon indicum contains mucilage, flavonoids, alkaloids, phenolic compounds, and anti-inflammatory constituents with documented analgesic, diuretic, antimicrobial, antioxidant, and wound-healing effects. These findings support its traditional use for urinary support, inflammation reduction, and tissue soothing.
Each batch of Indian Mallow Herb Whole (Abutilon indicum) is carefully harvested and dried to preserve its soft stems, broad leaves, and naturally soothing energetic profile. When decocted, it produces a mild, slightly mucilaginous, cooling infusion traditionally used to soothe irritation, clear heat, support urinary comfort, and promote gentle systemic cooling.
