Valerian root is a well-known herb for supporting restful sleep and relaxation. Here’s how to make a valerian root tincture that can help you unwind.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup dried valerian root
  • 2 cups high-proof alcohol (vodka)

Instructions:

  1. Add the valerian root to a clean glass jar.
  2. Pour alcohol over it, covering the root completely.
  3. Seal and label the jar with the date.
  4. Let it sit in a cool, dark place for 4-6 weeks, shaking it daily.
  5. Strain the tincture into a dark glass bottle.

Use: Take 1–2 droppers about 30 minutes before bed to help with sleep. Valerian root has a strong odor, so mix with a small amount of water or juice if preferred.
