White Turmeric Powder (Curcuma wenyujin) is the finely milled rhizome of a rare turmeric species, distinct from common yellow turmeric for its paler color, unique aroma, and specialized medicinal qualities. Known in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) as E Zhu, and used in Ayurveda as well, White Turmeric has long been prized as a blood-invigorating, qi-moving, and stagnation-resolving herb.

In TCM, E Zhu is regarded as a warm, bitter herb used to break up blood stasis, reduce abdominal masses, alleviate pain, and promote healthy circulation. It is often prescribed for abdominal discomfort, menstrual irregularities, and digestive stagnation, especially when these are linked to obstruction of qi and blood. Unlike common turmeric used primarily as a spice, White Turmeric is considered a strong medicinal rhizome with more targeted applications.

In Ayurveda, White Turmeric is also valued for its digestive, anti-inflammatory, and detoxifying properties, sometimes used to ease respiratory congestion, support skin health, and stimulate digestion.

Modern research highlights compounds such as curcuminoids, sesquiterpenes, and essential oils found in Curcuma wenyujin, which are associated with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anticancer, and antimicrobial effects. Extracts of the rhizome have been studied for potential roles in supporting liver health, circulation, and cellular protection.

Each batch of White Turmeric Powder (Curcuma wenyujin) is carefully harvested and ground to preserve its aromatic potency, pale golden hue, and active compounds. The powdered form allows for easy incorporation into herbal capsules, teas, tinctures, or external applications.

Note: White Turmeric is a potent blood-moving herb and is not recommended during pregnancy or in individuals with heavy bleeding unless under the guidance of a qualified practitioner.
