The Thanksgiving Herb Pairing Playbook

Pairing herbs is about contrast (brightness vs. richness), intensity (delicate vs. bold), and texture (leafy vs. woody). Use this guide to design your menu.

Best Pairings by Dish

  • Turkey: sage + rosemary + thyme (classic), or Italian‑leaning with Italian Spice Blend. Shop blend. LA Herb

  • Stuffing: sage (base note) + thyme (savory lift) + parsley (fresh finish).

  • Gravy: thyme + bay; finish with parsley.

  • Roasted vegetables: Herbs de Provence or rosemary + thyme; finish with lemon zest and parsley.

  • Green veg: parsley + tarragon + chives (if you have them).

Fresh ↔ Dried Conversion (Bookmark This)

  • 3 Tbsp fresh ≈ 1 Tbsp dried

  • 1 Tbsp fresh ≈ 1 tsp dried

  • Whole leaf → powder: start with ½ the amount; powders are more intense and disperse faster.
