Cedar Leaves & Branchlets Whole (Cedrus deodara) are the dried leafy twigs of the Himalayan cedar tree, revered for centuries in Ayurvedic, Tibetan, and folk herbal traditions for their aromatic, warming, and purifying properties. Known in Ayurveda as Devadaru, meaning “Divine Tree,” this sacred evergreen is valued for its ability to dispel wind and dampness, invigorate circulation, and cleanse the respiratory tract and skin.

In Ayurvedic medicine, Cedrus deodara is classified as bitter, pungent, and warming, used to pacify kapha and vata doshas. The leaves and branchlets are traditionally employed to relieve joint stiffness, promote sweating, and open the lungs, especially in conditions of cold, congestion, or rheumatic pain. Externally, decoctions or infusions of cedar are used to purify the skin, heal wounds, and repel insects, while the aromatic vapors are inhaled to clear the sinuses and calm the mind.

In Himalayan and Tibetan practices, Deodar cedar is regarded as both a medicinal and spiritual tree, used in incense, fumigations, and ritual cleansing to remove negative influences and purify spaces.

Modern phytochemical studies reveal that Cedrus deodara contains sesquiterpenes, cedrol, and essential oils with antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and relaxant properties. These compounds help explain its traditional uses for respiratory, joint, and skin health, as well as its calming, grounding aroma.

Each batch of Cedar Leaves & Branchlets Whole (Cedrus deodara) is carefully harvested and air-dried to preserve its deep green color, resinous scent, and medicinal potency. When simmered, it produces a warming, pine-like infusion traditionally used in steam inhalations, external washes, or cleansing herbal baths.
