Dragon’s Blood, Resin Pieces (Daemonorops draco) are naturally occurring red resin chunks harvested from the fruit of the rattan palm species native to Southeast Asia. Revered across ancient cultures, this vivid crimson resin has been used for centuries in traditional medicine, ritual, and craft, valued for both its striking appearance and its functional properties.
In traditional Chinese medicine, Dragon’s Blood is known as Xue Jie (血竭), meaning "blood of the dragon." It is traditionally used to invigorate the blood, dispel stasis, and support tissue regeneration. It is frequently included in external salves and powders to promote the healing of wounds, reduce inflammation, and alleviate pain from trauma or bruising. Internally, it may be used (under professional guidance) to address blood stagnation patterns, menstrual irregularities, or traumatic injury.
This resin is also widely used in ceremonial and magical contexts, especially in incense blends, protection rituals, and purification practices. It has a deep, resinous scent when burned, often used to cleanse spaces, strengthen intentions, and elevate spiritual energy.
Dragon’s Blood resin pieces can be ground into powder for use in external formulas, tinctures, or incense blends. When used externally, it is often applied in herbal plasters or added to alcohol-based liniments for treating cuts, wounds, or joint discomfort. Due to its potent nature, internal use should only be done under the supervision of a qualified practitioner.
Each batch is composed of solid, unprocessed resin pieces ranging in color from deep red to reddish-brown, offering a potent and versatile form of this ancient botanical treasure. Color may be darker in person due to lighting.
