Silver Cock’s Comb Seed Whole (Celosia argentea L.), known in Traditional Chinese Medicine as Qing Xiang Zi (青葙子), is the dried, mature seed of the silver cock's comb plant, a bright flowering herb prized for its visual beauty and medicinal properties. These lustrous dark seeds are traditionally used to clear wind-heat from the liver and brighten the eyes, particularly in cases of redness, swelling, or vision disturbances associated with internal heat.
Qing Xiang Zi is considered cooling and descending in nature, often included in formulas targeting hypertension, headaches, dizziness, and dry or itchy eyes. It is also sometimes used as a mild laxative in traditional applications. While potent in effect, it is generally used in modest doses and with caution, especially in cases of low blood pressure.
Our seeds are whole, clean, and unprocessed, making them ideal for traditional decoctions, custom formulas, or grinding fresh as needed.
